This is a street down at the Jersey shore, painted from a photo I took a few years ago. It isn’t exactly a street, more a row of beach cottages leading to the ocean. Take off your shoes, it is just a few steps to the water!
Each month the Virtual Paintout travels to a different location in the world using Google street maps to find a spot to paint. I think it is a lot of fun to look at different places and virtually turn around looking for something of interest. Majorca has a lot of beautiful places. I was dreaming of actually being there! This is a small format piece–4×6 inches, oil on unstretched canvas. I taped off a 5×7 inch piece and thought it would look great matted and framed under glass in a ready made frame. It is painted entirely with palette knife.
This is my entry for September’s Virtual Paintout in Gothenberg, Sweden. It is 5×5 inches, oil on Arches oil paper, painted with a palette knife. I’ve included a link to the Google map location of the street view of this painting. You may enjoy visiting Virtual Paintout.com to see other artists paintings of this beautiful town.
