Figurative seascape 30×40 acrylic

After painting two small paintings of this image I did a larger 30×40 on gallery wrapped canvas.  I have been working mostly on small format art and found the transition to larger format to be a good learning experience. Transferring the image more or less in grid form helped the drawing part and using 2 inch wide brushes to get started helped quickly cover the canvas with paint. Once the canvas was initially covered with the first couple passes, I kept painting and correcting until it felt right to me. Acrylic paint is so easy to just repaint areas that aren’t working. The hard part is to know which areas those are!
