Daily Paintworks has a sight size challenge this week. The idea is to use a canvas about the same size as the view you are looking at and place the still life right beside the easel. Here’s the two together:
Here’s a close up of my 5×7 inch painting. It is a fun challenge and I will try again to figure out the benefits. If you frame out the edges of the actual still life, it will become clear where the negative spaces are and where things line up relative to edges. This is definitely worth repeating.
